COVID Exposure Notification and New Protocols

January 24, 2022

Hello Peary Family,

Due to an increase in positive cases throughout Los Angeles County during this Omicron surge, Peary Middle School is taking some added precautions at this time to treat all students and employees as if they are a close contact.  Details of the full document are summarized below;

  1. Close Contacts Stay at School: Until further notice, families will not receive individual close contact notifications. Your child can continue attending school and participating in school activities including sports and before- and after-school programs as long as they do not have any symptoms.
  2. Positive or Symptoms: All positive cases or individuals showing symptoms must follow the Isolation Protocol and stay at home.
  3. Mask at All Times: While at school, all students and employees are to wear well-fitting, non-cloth, surgical-type or higher, masks at all times, including during sports and extracurricular activities, both indoors and outdoors.
  4. Weekly Testing: All students and employees will continue to participate in weekly COVID-19 screening testing on our school’s regularly scheduled testing day or upload their external tests results to the daily pass. Individuals who have had a positive COVID-19 test in the past 90 days will still be exempt from PCR testing.
  5. Monitor Symptoms: If your child is ill or develops symptoms of COVID-19, they must follow the isolation protocols and test immediately, at an LAUSD drive-up symptomatic testing site or by getting a PCR test with an external healthcare provider.
